Vicious circle- you buy more clothes it creates more work. You create surplus that creates garbage to to thrown away or sent to Africa a cannot all be sold and is buried in garbage dump. Manufacture less and creates unemployment in third world countries where textiles are manufactured and clothes sown. Figure a way to break that vicious cycle without creating unemployment and you get a Nobel Prize.
Best news in the world
Change is needed. To move these jobs to the 🇺🇸 , we need to have a decent pay with the housing. People have bills to pay like utilities and food. You can't charge max housing and leave nothing. You need to pay enough so other Americans will buy from their own.
Wondering why many countries still not using Ivermectin, a wonder drug developed by two Nobel Prize recipient doctors their parasitic drug fortunately can repurpose use to treat and prevent infectious disease like covid19, it was proven safe if taken the right dosage, the drug can help nations from this coronavirus crisis, India was not in the news headlines anymore, after government distributed Ivermectin, vitamins and flu medicines to the its citizens.
Living of $150 per month. And companies claim they are treating forign employees fair.
So cool.
New Zealand needs to become self sufficient 😷
Interesting……but I tell you what.
Let me make an analogy :
When wolves were first reintroduced in Europe, they were very shy and fended in the forest……pretty tiresome when you have a herd of sheep pasturing in the neighbourhood…….and so it is……wolf eats sheep.
And then, some town start sighting wolves around the outskirts…..Cuz…..you don’t have to run after a trash can like you have after a sheep…….
We are basically like the wolf and any predator……opportunists who for for the easy way.
My bet is, once COVID is over……for knows when…..we lay not go back exactly to the old ways, but we won’t look for the difficult way to do things.
As to work from home…..day in day out with your partner also working…….I am going to law school to become divorce lawyer.
That Allianz woman cracked me up when talking about all the electricity savings……..payed by the employees working from home.
Just a bunch of wolves like I told you.
Real-life economics is always political. The only time economics is not political is when students read about it.
Pandemics are not caused or created by one person or a country, they are caused by everybody and every country. We needed to take early precautions and awareness.
Stop globalization , Open Trade, and Free Tariffs for incoming goods. Bring back much needed employment opportunities to Developed nations. People have lost jobs and go on welfare. Globalization promoted greed among the filthy rich. The middle class is now eradicated. Corona Virus pandemic and DW , Thank you for the documentary.
Many poor countries including the developing countries have been economically affected by the Covid pandemic as there would be temporary lockdowns implemented everytime the cases would spike up and in order to combat the seriousness of the virus resulting in loss of stability of jobs and people wondering where they are going to find the next meal to eat. The government doesn't also give the SAP consistently which the very poor deserve to get because of corruption!
It's really a sad fact and an ugly truth that many people all over the world are dying from the notorius virus but what to do? This must be a Divine Act to make people change and turn only to the real God, not idolatrous worship. There was something mentioned in the Bible called 'the Abomination of desolation' which is probably the Covid 19 pandemic and now the Delta variant!
deregulated free markets never made sense , why he push for globalisation? killing the workers unions power was one but as long term strategy to control the world by ruining the public sector and creating large debt as means to postpone taxes to the next generations was very successful as competence of government was destroyed by high salaries paid to administrators etc in the private sector, outsourcing of public management was a need face the incompetence of politics, that helped contain the loss of employment resulting from outsourcing production to Asia, production represented a small percentage of work places, 10% lost jobs was in fact the loss of products to internal and export markets, Germany rode the losses on jobs by producing Chinas machinery as Australia by supplying aw materials, good deal for Germany was a disaster to Portugal Greece Spain producing clothing now supplied by china.
I don't believe the consequences long term were ignored, soon or latter reason would impose itself, as countries credit
is lost even with zero interest.
nobody saves money to deposit at zero interest, money needed to be new printed money or suzerain default would destroy the local banks, china products cheap or not needed to be bought before marketing and sale created the profits… but china and india rejected western products specially financials and gambling. never made sense
unless after ruining everybody industry in Europe highly automatized with a new generation of machines would compeat with china older technology but only if energy costs were lower, but this is only after taking over all western industry, so the climate crisis and fossil fuels cause the sharp rise in eu energy costs, at 2008 we knew, prolonging the global market anoer 12 years on public debt
preventing backlash hiding the deception you need war or a pandemic
who will own everything for us to rent ? the guys that sold globalism are selling the grand reset
germany is fine high quality industry
china war now will be a disaster as no products to sell
runch the nos but the logic of the sting is clear if impossible to prove
I predicted this when pandemic arrived that was obvious for 2 decades because the just in time is too restrictive more supplies if one company has a problem another company can sell that necessary item in different continents! Risk Management was required for business degree that I obtained in CIS 1984
Great reporting! Its smacking us right in the face… we hope its for a learning thing
Mondi sound like Modi.. Only care about himself who rule Mondi is set to build new production lines in its plant in Gronau, Germany, to produce melt blown nonwoven fabric and surgical face masks.
By undertaking this project, Mondi hopes to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and respond to increased demand from health authorities, businesses, and consumers for face masks.
Mondi Gronau has a track record of producing and handling films, laminates, nonwovens, and elastic ear laminates for hygiene products. The company intends to apply this knowledge to the entire value chain of face mask production.
“We are well-positioned for the increased production of face masks and melt blown nonwoven fabric in Gronau. Our people have the needed know-how and expertise in working with these materials and the technology required. The in-house production capability of all substantial components positions us to build up a long-term competitive local supply. Once up and running, we will be able to produce more than one million face masks per day,” said Jürgen Schneider, managing director, Mondi Personal Care Components (PCC).
The production lines will produce melt blown nonwoven fabric and surgical masks. Given the shortage of melt blown fabric in the market place, Mondi´s plant in Gronau plans to offer approximately 50% of its production to other face mask manufacturers in Europe.

Buy Cash only. They just want to control your money!!!!
It's all fun & games until your president makes an idiotic comment & the Chinese threaten to cut off pandemic supplies like masks & other PPE. That's what happened to the U.S. when Trump was in power. Being too dependent on ANY foreign nation for essentials is dangerous & puts your own workers out of business. Corporations and their greed are to blame, as are the politicians who have allowed the outsourcing of labor to the lowest bidder.
I wish we could make corporations move production back to the US. It’s scary how much we depend on China. Of course we can manufacture everything here but large/medium-sized corporations, even small companies are saving too much money. There are so many companies here who could have manufactured PPE and were ready…but our government preferred contracts with China to obtain faulty PPE, among other things. I thought this was one of the things Trump said he would do, but instead, he made those large companies happier with tax cuts and no thought of moving production back to the US.

Something needs to happen the system is so corrupt all over the world it's a nightmare, my best advice for anyone is to decide not to have children unless you want them to suffer because the super rich are in charge and we are all slaves
The best thing that came out of globalization is the corona virus
Modern day slavery will end
Crooks making excuses for their greed. 😣 Money ghouls on parade. Print some more money for them. Pretend that paper actually has true economic value. Then ask them if they feel better. Then leave human beings alone before we ALL walk away from your scams. 😣
She makes a damn fine point. 25:58
It’s not changing globalization? It’s part of the plan in globalization.
Well that's the idea of depopulating the Planet >> People starve in third world Countries, Small wars occur, Corona 19 contributes to Mass deaths of the old etc >>> This is the whole idea and every opne is ignoring the fact that it's 'Elite' that have designed this !!!!
It's like a Chinese finger trap: Try to leave globalization quicky to find out you can't. Leave globalization slowly or find the one point where globalization can benefit businesses and people and voila! You're freed.
Hint: It's tied to labor bur it's not UBI or automation. Mexicans do this, and slowly other nationalities are doing it.
Overseas labor cannot change. Why?
1. Government regulations for workers would increase the costs of goods, leading to inflation.
2. Would the benefits really go to the workers or to management? Easy to say, "workers rights will be improved upon" when those changes will pad upper management's pockets.
3. Production would move elsewhere, hurting the previous country's workers even more.
Production cannot be reshored. Not enough incentive to prompt such a move.
1. Labor costs
2. Environmental regulations
3. Commerical real estate cost
4. High cost of goods produced= small or negative profit margins
5. Native peoples depending on jobs as they pay better
6. Geopolitical implications (treaties, etc)
7. AI not close to doing the same work in factories (too many pitfalls that would cause lawsuits)
8. If AI replaces jobs on production floor, how would people support themselves after the fact?
9. UBI not feasible due to volatile market and unreliability of AI in production. People need LOTS of money per year, every year.
10. Implications on society (births, education, etc)
It looks like a great, GREAT idea but under closer inspection, reshoring isnt feasible.
But, expatriation is..
😌🍷
The things they see as "problems" would also solve so much of the planet's pollution problem. But, well, I guess those estimated 20% loss are more important. It's all about the money. Maybe we should all remember this for when the new green washed product will be shoved down our throats.
Probably the largest con ever perpetrated on a human.
But aren't the costs you are saving being shifted elsewhere on the balance sheet? What is saved in worker costs show up in environmental, logistical transportation/maintenance and security costs? Now add in the breakdown of the supply chain…and look at all the lost sales!!
All we have to do is Simplify the way we live…too much of wastage
Thank you for this clear and unbiased exposition of information. I particularly appreciate the emotionaly neutral tone of the documentary: I suspect that every one that pulls the strings of fear, disgust, despair, anger, enmity has an hidden agenda.
It mostly depends on the regulations put on production by government.
Westeners stop colonization after gaining profit but did not stop influence in business to gain profit.Otherwise, pandemic is an experiment to gain profit.
West create globilization that degrades the quality of living of those who embrace.
